In January 2008 I was on maternity leave from my job at a high street bank. I was feeling unsure about returning to work and was suffering from post-natal depression.
I wanted a new focus to help me to improve my confidence and decided to find a jewellery organisation to work with as I had previously been involved in the industry and I have always loved jewellery. I researched organisations online and looked at a few of the collections, but the range offered by Miglio by far outshone the rest.
The quality, design and craftmanship was evident from the first necklace I picked up. I was also excited by the infinate options to change the jewellery and the overall versatility of the concept. I signed up straight away and held my first party with £250 worth of jewellery around a coffee table in my lounge.
I have never looked back and in January 2009 I decided to leave my job with the bank so that I can focus on my Miglio business full-time. I love how easy it can be to sell the jewellery and the flexibility of the job that allows me to be mum and still be there for my kids for important occasions, like my sons first sports day at School.
I've also found that I can still work even when my children have been sick, and I'm no longer worried about concerns for an employer or for work colleagues if I have to take time off (those of us who have been through kids with chicken pox should be able to relate to this). I've been steadily growing the business and am facing new challenges as I continue to recruit new consultants and sell to new and existing customers.
My customers are fantastic and love coming back to me to see what the new ranges have to offer as the catalogues change. My overall satisfaction with my career has improved and I am planning to be a part of the Miglio team for a long time to come. I know that the more I put into the more I can get out of it and will be using some of my earnings for a holiday to Florida with the family next year.
What
are the start up costs for your opportunity?
£125 + £5 P+p – you get a voucher for £250
of jewellery and all the documentation you will need to get you
started.
How
many years has your company been trading?
Sue Dean & Tim Westinghouse brought Miglio to the UK in 2003.
What
type of selling is involved?
Party plan primarily, but catalogues can be purchased as a sales
tool. One-2-Ones can also be effective as can attending local
events such as wedding fairs.
What
training and support is offered?
Full
support and training from your Sponsor initially, and advice can be
sought from Head Office where needed. There is also a structured
training programme that is delivered nationwide by Miglio’s
full time training manager, plus the opportunity to hold one-to-one
discussions with her via Skype.
What
are the basic initial commission rates?
Your
starting point is 25% of everything you sell, then tiers that lead
to up to 40% plus additional sales bonus.

What
products/services do you provide to sell?
Miglio is a South African jewellery range that offers an infinitely
adaptable collection of bracelets, earrings and necklaces with
enhancers and pendants. Miglio also operates under a fair trade
policy and actively supports The Homestead, a remarkable charity
based in South Africa that works with street children.
What
does your company offer?
Whether
you are looking for a full time career, a part time job or just a
little extra money each month then the Miglio business opportunity
will suit. Every
consultant can be proactive and imaginative in selling the jewellery,
which gives you total control over your business.
What
can someone joining your company realistically expect to earn?
Without making false promises the sky is the limit – it could
be anywhere between £50 and £250+ it all depends on how
much effort you are prepared to put in.
Does
stock have to be bought in advance and stored by the distributor?
No, you receive £250 of jewellery of your choice with your
initial investment and it is up to you to decide your own stock
holding. Head Office hold a high level of stock and generally have
delivery to you within 24 – 48 hours of an order. You can also
borrow stock from your sponsor to allow you to show a larger
selection of the jewellery and of course the full collection is
shown in the catalogues.

there any restrictions on earnings?
No

there territories in which you have to sell within?
No,
in fact as the catalogue shows prices in Euro’s you can also
sell abroad, something I do when I’m on holiday
Does
someone joining your opportunity have to meet certain criteria or
targets?
2 parties with
sales of at least £100 within first 3 months of joining and
you must be over 18 to join.

We have a variety of
incentive schemes offered at different levels, including an annual
travel incentive, which has previously included trips to Marrakech,
Florence, Barcelona and South Africa. New
consultants can earn a £100 bonus if in they sell over £250
per month in their first 3 months.

How many people can say that they look forward to going to work
every day – I do and that is all thanks to this refreshingly
forward thinking organisation that allow me to run my own business
my own way. It’s a fantastic opportunity with only around
1000 consultants currently operating within the UK and it is growing
fast.
