My Story

I had worked in a Bank for 20+ years, as well as being a foster carer, offering respite care. In 2004, I gave up my bank job and became a full time carer, whilst my husband continued with his nursing career.

Over a period of time, although I loved being at home with the children, I realised that I missed the adult conversation and meeting people and that I had lost a lot of my confidence. I decided that I would like a job that fitted around the children and my husband’s shifts, would allow me to attend all the fostering meetings and would give me all school holidays off. Where was I going to find this job?

I had been introduced to PartyLite several years ago, attended parties regularly and absolutely loved their candles and accessories. I had always avoided holding a party myself as we lived in a very busy household with 5 foster children but in September 2007, the hostess offers were too good for me to miss. My husband and I were amazed at how much free product we received!

The consultant talked briefly about joining the company and I was hooked! This was the job that I had been looking for. I was very nervous as I lacked so much confidence but my first parties were with people I knew and this gave me a boost. After my first month, I had achieved bonus level and received loads of free products.

Although I understood the benefits of being a Unit Leader, I wasn’t really interested, I just loved having a social life and getting paid for it but things changed. In September

2007, my husband had been signed off work with arthritis and his condition steadily deteriorated, culminating in September 2008 with him having to give up work on health grounds. I worked harder at the business to try and replace his income and it paid off. By November 1st 2008, I had built up a team and become a unit Leader. Since then, I have not looked back. I have achieved most of the many promotions that the company have offered and in February this year, I achieved free places for my husband & I to go on the company’s luxury holiday to Malta.

I can not believe that so much can be achieved in such a short space of time. Although I am still a little nervous at times, my confidence has dramatically increased, I have made some fantastic friends and I get paid to have a social life.

What are the start up costs for your opportunity?
There is no cash investment! PartyLite provide you with a starter kit worth £300, which includes candle holders, candles, stationery, brochures and a very useful guide. On achieving sales of £300 you have cleared your starter kit!

How many years has your company been trading?
PartyLite have been trading for 36 years and are an international company.

What type of selling is involved?
Candles and accessories are sold mainly through party plan but hostesses can choose to have a catalogue party if they prefer.

What training and support is offered?
The training is FREE. Individual training and support is given by your up line leader on an ongoing basis and group training through unit & regional meetings. You will be linked to a local support network. Each consultant is also given a manual full of very useful information and hints and tips. There is also a website.

What are the basic initial commission rates?
You are paid 20% commission on your sales, on a weekly basis and when sales exceed £1200 in a calendar month, you receive an additional 5% bonus, which is paid monthly. If you would like to advance to higher income levels, you can earn an additional 1.5% as a team leader or an additional 6% on your personal & your team’s sales as a Unit Leader.

What products/services do you provide to sell?
Quality candles and exclusive home accessories made from the finest materials.

What does your company offer?
They offer so much, I’m not sure where to start!

What can someone joining your company realistically expect to earn?
There is no limit to what you can earn but to give you an example:

Does stock have to be bought in advance and stored by the distributor?
No. After a party, the products are ordered and sent straight to the hostess.

Are there any restrictions on earnings?
There are no restrictions on earnings, each consultant is classed as self employed and can earn as much or as little as they like.

Are there territories in which you have to sell within?
No, we do not have territories, it is your choice how far you wish to travel.

Does someone joining your opportunity have to meet certain criteria or targets?
The only requirement is that you must be 18 or over. You work when you want to and around your family or lifestyle.

What sets your opportunity apart from the others?

If you decide it is not for you, provided that you have sold £300, you keep your kit. There are no additional charges. What have you got to lose.

What are the ways in which you can earn money from your opportunity?
Through parties, you will earn income as soon as your kit is cleared! If you decide to build a team, you can earn on your teams sales.

What bonuses and incentives do you have and how easily achieved are they?
These have all been mentioned earlier but since starting with the company, in October 2007, I have achieved bonus every month as well as many other incentives, including a 5 day luxury holiday in Malta!
